Poor Alice! What a calamity teatime must have been at the Mad Hatter's table. Flying tea trays, broken cups and a door mouse in the teapot! When life seems chaotic and stressful, calmly sit down, take a few moments for yourself, have a spot of tea, and then carry on. The tinkling sound of tea charms on this pin will be your gentle reminder. Created with elements struck with antique dies, tea and coffee pots, spoons and such are finished in bronze and silver. A special vintage whimsy. 2-1/2" wide x 3" long. Finished in bronze and silver. Mad in our Los Angeles studio.
a little background...
When I offer my collection on QVC London, I stayed in the Belgravia district, known for the connected row houses which were built for workers constructing the additions to Buckingham Palace in the 1800s. A favorite B&B occupies one of these narrow residences. Downstairs, on the wall of the small dining room, aligned exactly along the border of its circa 1915 wallpaper, is a Victorian walnut shelf. A silver tea service occupies the top. The cups hanging below quiver just a little, it seems, even when the room is empty and I am alone. Ever polished and gleaming in subdued lighting, I'm told the set has been gracing that wall since WWI.
