On this enchanting necklace, satin glass tulips bloom from the stems and leaves of eight curvilinear links. The tulips are handmade in the same process as when they originally appeared in the 1940s. Their satiny finish reflects light as a soft glow which travels in each sculptured flower. Finest quality 6mm Swarovski pearls are individually linked as the neck chain, echoed by seed pearl accents among the tulips. Burnished bronze finish.

Shelley's comments: The tulip flower represents joy, elegance and worthiness. It is said to be the symbol of perfect love. Just after WWII, the fashion scene changed dramatically to light, feminine silhouettes. Floral print silk dresses and jewelry were the rage. European glass workshops sputtered alive again, turning out beads and jewelry elements with artistic forms and finishes. My tulip necklace recalls that era and introduces a fresh angle to contemporary fashion.
